Race 1:Tight start at the pin end of the line with a number of the bigger boats crashing in with no right of way. Good leg down the Solent and 2nd past the forts. Fog came down out into the channel and not a lot of wind for crossing overnight.Race 2:Decided to take in shore route off start for less tide but did not seem to pay off. Wind died and struggled to get to Bar fleur before the tide turned against, lost spinnaker halyard up mast and experienced a line squall. Past shortened course mark off Cherbourg after 30 hours racing and then motored rest of way to St Peter Port.Race 3:Got heavy weight spinnaker up just after the start in a strong South Westerly and 2nd out of the Little Russel but caught by rest of fleet going up the Race. Expected speed to drop off as we got into the open sea but not so and good sleigh ride across the channel. Slightly mis judged tide offset so had to head up to make Bridge. Bit of a struggle to get round and out of the worst of the foul tide but made Hurst OK and then noticed the Flying Fish closing with poled out No. 1 so spinnaker back up till the finish which was not helped by two passing ships just before Coronation.
