Two days of round the cans racing in the Solent for small boats. Seemed to be down the pan in the first race until we rounded the final mark and headed off on the opposite tack to the rest of the fleet which meant that we luckily picked up a wind shift which took us from nearly last to being 2nd on the water (3rd on corrected). 2nd on corrected in remaining two races which wasn't too shabby and then off to the Hamble for the evenings entertainment which consisted mainly of helping out trying to work out the results. Sunday started off with light winds but built to a strong breeze which made the two short races a bit hectic. Forced OCS in the first race but recovered a bit. Second race was a bit too windy for us and various issues with the spinnaker so a 6th and 7th was not too bad. Overall 3rd was reasonable but issues getting back to the mooring as air had got into the fuel system and finally ended up helping to recover an abandoned dinghy at Calshot before the RNLI came out to play.
