Slightly late on the line but in a good position at the pin end after avoiding Blazer doing a pirouette on the line. Seemed quite good for a while as the boats inside looked like they would have to tack to get out to Hurst but the wind shifted and they all made it in one and ended up in front of us.  Decided to go North Channel as as we had nothing to loose but did not pay as the rest of the fleet were ahead when we rounded Anvil Point.  Also meant that we were inshore up to St Albans and had tide against where as the ones offshore didn't.  Took some time to get far enough into Weymouth Bay to get inshore with pretty poor tacking angles against the tide.  Not a good result but not unexpected as we were only two up and we rarely do well in a heavy weather beat.  Interesting trip back with a force 7 and the engine deciding to dump the sump into the bilge.
