Decent breeze for the start and a West going tide for all of the race in prospect.  Start line positioned near Flying Fish and we decided to put ourselves at the pin end of the line for a port tack start but had to delay a little to let Jiminy Cricket pass on starboard.  Decent beat to the windward laid mark 1.5 miles from the start and then a good kite leg to Quinnel, once we had avoided the liner coming down the main channel.  From Quinnel it was a beat to Fastnet Insurance and then onto Browndown.  Initially we short tacked up the shore to keep out of the worst of the tide then headed off North of the back.  Wee Bear had headed off earlier, probably across the bank where there is less tide and gained some distance on us even though they had to tack in for the mark.  Once round Browndown it was another kite leg to the finish at Flying Fish.  Weren't sure if we had enough time on the lower raters but as it turned out we had and got a good second place behind High Jinks who we never saw.
