Red flag course as very light winds at the start. Bit of a drifter with the kite up to begin with but got in a good position at the head of the fleet and avoided Gurnard unlike a certain Raffles who had a too close encounter. Whooper was away as usual but we were in the top three at the first mark, Peel Bank. Downed the kite and a short beat to North Est Ryde Middle than on to Hill Head. From there it was a beat all the way down the Solent with the breeze building. Through Hurst we headed for North Head and then across Poole bay. East Hook was the target and may have made a poor choice of approaching it from offshore as there could have been adverse tide. Short leg to the finish at Wreck buoy with a little confusion to the finishing procedure. Overall 5th in class 6 and a 8th in the double handed class. Good night in Poole with an excellent curry in Quay Spice.
