Just enough wind to fight the adverse tide with the spinnaker up at the start and did quite well for about the
first mile before the wind died. Started out close in to the Island shore but looked like the boats further out
were fairing better so gybed out and for the long trek out to the Forts. Kept in the Nab channel till the
Easterly filled in around midnight and kept the spinnaker up till about ten miles off the finish. Had a bit of a
struggle getting the kite down and probably lost about 5 minutes before we got sorted and white sailed into
the finish. Normal check in on the radio and speculation as to where we had come but encouraged by a
number of the bigger boats finishing behind us. Got overall second place and first of the two handed boats.
