Forecast for light winds for whole race so extra rolls and meals on board. 12:00 o'clock start from Royal Yacht
Squadron, adverse tide BUT some gradient wind. Good start from the pin end of the line but slow kite hoist
as I screwed the pole up but once under way made good progress out of the tide. McDonalds
yachtwent aground inside us so steered clear of them. Once out past the Needles the wind became very
fickle and would remain so for the rest of the race. Kedged in Weymouth bay for about 5 hours over night
but kept going there after if pretty slow at times. Finally got to within 10 miles of the finish and the wind filled
in for a spinnaker finish. 59 hours 7 minutes but worth it as we won the Jog class and secured the all
important 1101 points for the offshore series.
