The Dartmouth race counted as the first leg of the Offshore week with a combined class 5 & 6 result of 8th.
Hoped for a bit of off wind work for the Dartmouth St Quay race but it wasn't to be, also picked up a huge
clump of weed which slowed us so bit disappointed with a 9th place. St Quay to St Cars was the short leg
with Alchemist back in the series after their forestay problem in the first race. Good start and excellent short
beat up to the first mark, changed up to the number 1 for the next leg then were able to get the asymmetric
up. Bit on the edge but once round the headland we could drop the A sail and get the normal kite up for a
quick run into the finish. Very pleased with the first place and a good off day in St Cast. Final leg to St Peter
Port on Friday and again on the wind but seemed to made the correct course with other boats making
multiple tacks. Bit tricky at the bottom of the Little Russell and some debate as to what the length of a cable
was but made the finish without too much difficulty. Couple of great meal in the Ship & Crown and even
received the overall 3 place salver at the prize ging even though I had worked out that we were third, never
mind kept it for a couple of days.
