Weekend did not start too well after being rear ended on the drive down to the Hamble and finding that the new depth sounder I had fitted was leaking.  Also the race had been postponed from the Saturday to Sunday due to storm Hanna coming through.  Sunday forecast was for a reasonably stiff breeze but no gale force gusts so rigged the number 3.  Start line at Maraval and a quick beat up to Hamble Winter series and then across to Royal Thames, by this stage the two J97's had a clear lead but we where heading the Najad 331 and Mystery 30.  Kite up for the leg to Colette then a beat back to RORC.  Nip and tuck with the Najad and pulled back a bit on the second down wind leg back to Colette. Short leg up to East Bramble with the Najad on our hip as we approached the mark but definitely no overlap.  Final beat to the finish and crossed the line just behind the Najad.  Only lost out to one of the J97's by 12 seconds but not sure about the trailing two boats yet.
