Results - 2021
Not a good forecast with just 3/4 knts NE'ly but as it turned out it was a lot better. Bit shy on the start due to the
strong tide and light wind. First problem was to sail/drift successfuly between Prince Consort and Snowden. Once
that was achieved the wind started to die altogether but then the sea breeze filled from the SW making it a kite leg
to Fastnet Insurance. Back across the Solent to Yawl with a tricky rounding against the tide. Another good kite leg
to Browndown and a careful jibe to make it to Stokes Bay. Made good progress under kite but fell back on the long
leg back to Hill Head. Royal Thames was in as a passing mark but seemed to generate some odd routings as we
needed to get back to the slot between Snowden and Prince Consort. Once on the run into the finish it was short
tacking up Cowes Green to Gurnard. 4th in Class 4 so pretty pleased overall consideering what the prospects for
the day looked like.
